Short bio

He received this Ph.D. in Technical Chemistry from the Graz Technical University, Austria, in 1996. Currently, he is responsible for the Advanced Photonics and Photovoltaic research unit within FBK. His current research includes the development of photovoltaic cells based on silicon or organic semiconductors, integrated silicon photonics (Fabry-Perot cavities, micro-resonators, optical waveguides, light emitting diodes based on silicon nano-crystals), study of formation, structure and properties of metallic or semiconductor nano-particles for application in photonics.

He is an author or co-author of more than 100 research articles or conference proceedings and hold an H-index of 26.
